The Farm
Rising Sun Sheep is nestled on 44 acres in the
beautiful town of
Schnecksville in the Lehigh
Valley area of Pennsylvania. Rising Sun has been in operation for over 23
years with BettyJane Koehler as it's head shepherdess.
Our commitment to the ovine community doesn't just stop with our own sheep. Rising Sun Sheep has partnered with Lehigh Carbon Community College's veterinary technician program. We provide both on-hands training and demonstrations at our farm facilities for students.

We believe that high quality sheep take a very hands on approach to raising by
selecting top genetics and improving the ewe family.
Rising Sun uses Border Cheviot rams that range in size from 32
inches to 34 inches full grown.
Our Border Cheviot ewes average well over 28 to 30 inches
or more. Dorset rams range in size from 38 inches to 41 inches and ewes
average 34 to 36 inches or more.
